This week-long full moon
festival is the biggest festival in Vientiane. The large
forecourt of That Luang is covered in a temporary market
that runs until late and includes live music, dance
performances and various sideshows and games. For good
luck, make an offering at the stupa and walk around it
three times counterclockwise. Get up early on the first
day of the festival to see thousands of monks lined up to
receive alms. A procession occurs on another day, and
fireworks mark the end of the festival.
Day 1: Arrive
Vientiane [L-D]
Meet on arrival at Wattay International Airport or
Friendship Bridge then transfer to hotel. Visit the
religious temples in the city: Vat Sisaket, Ho Prakeo, Vat
Xieng Khuane, That Luang Stupa. Lunch will be provided at
a downtown restaurant.
Day 2 That Luang
Procession [B-L-D]
After breakfast at hotel, it's an experience not to be
missed; you are encouraged participate in the exhibition
fair at That Luang ground. Lunch will be served a downtown
restaurant. Afternoon, you will amaze the procession of
Pasad Phuong or Palace of wax", from Vat Simuong to
Vat That Luang; a very colorful crowd gathering in their
traditional costume attending the ceremony. Return to
hotel and dinner. Under the moonlight, we revisit That
Luang illuminated for Laos New Year's night.
Day 3 Vientiane -
Luang Prabang [B-L-D]
Early morning wake up, after getting breakfast at hotel -
you are welcome to witness the great ceremony of
alms-giving where Laos people of all social class, from
the high official authorities to the simple citizen, join
the ceremony with their traditional costume: a very
significant event for each and a very colorful gathering.
And then, we lead you to domestic airport and take off to
Luang Prabang. Welcome and greeted upon arrival at Luang
Prabang, we transfer you to hotel. After checking-in,
visit Vat Visoun, Vat Xieng Thong, and the most elegant
pagoda of the city, Vat Mai. Visit a nearby Mount Phousi,
where you can climb up to absorb the panoramic view from
the top of hill.
Day 4 Luang Prabang
[B-L-D]
Breakfast at hotel, proceed to boat landing and take a
boat ride upstream to Tham Ting (cave). Make a short stop
at Ban Sang Hai, discover the traditional Laos alcohol
distillery before a picnic lunch providing at Pak Ou.
Drive overland route back to Luang Prabang, visit the
weaving-village Ban Phanom.
Day 5: Vientiane [B]
Breakfast at hotel, this morning is a discovery the
attractions of city; the former Royal Palace converts into
National Museum. And then, you will be transferred to
airport to take off to Vientiane. Arrive in Vientiane and
free time at leisure.
Day 6 Depart Vientiane
[B]
After breakfast at hotel, we pick you at hotel lobby and
transfer to Wattey Airport or Friendship Bridge for your
next departure flight
