Luang Namtha has more to
offer than can be included in your guide book. From the Boat
Landing you can discover the nature and peoples of Luang
Namtha. Indeed, there are many things to do and see in this
province such as rafting, Kayaking, trekking, boat trip
along Namtha River and many more. This tour gives you an
opportunity to absolutely enjoy the pure nature of Laos
while you're walking passing rice fields and along the
river.
Day 1: Arrive
Vientiane [L-D]
Meet on arrival at Wattay International Airport or
Friendship Bridge then transfer to hotel. Visit the
religious temples in the city: Vat Sisaket, Ho Prakeo,
That Luang Stupa. Lunch will be provided at a downtown
restaurant. Transfer to hotel. Diner and stay overnight.
Day 2: Vientiane -
Oudomxai - Luang Namtha [B-L-D]
Breakfast at hotel, you will be transferred to domestic
airport and take off to Oudomxai. Upon arrival, break in
proceeding en route to Luang Namtha with a picnic lunch.
After lunch visit nearby ethnic village, we arrive at
Luang Namtha in late afternoon and then install in
guesthouse. Brief you on trekking information at Namtha
eco-tourism office before the day trip.
Day 3 Ban Chalernsuk -
Ban Nalan (Trekking) [B-L-D]
After breakfast, this is a day of soft-adventure with
trekking. We drive overland by truck about 20 km to Ban
Chalernsuk, a Khmu ethic village, the starting point of
trekking. The route is 5-6 hours from Ban Chalernsuk to
Ban Nalan -the trail passes between rice granaries and
shirts of the village rive field before ascending the
steep to 10-20 years old secondary growth forest. After
2-3 hours of ascent, we will reach the top of a ridge. The
trail keeps continuing to cross upland rice fields a
patches of forest. We can lunch on the shade porch of a
small field house or in a cool glade in the forest. End
the day's walk after one hour descent of the steep to the
Namtha River Valley, you arrive at Ban Nalan, a Khmu
village - the village itself is on pleasant flat land at
the edge of Namtha River, surrounded by several large
stands of hardwood trees. Diner will be provided - Good
night!
Day 4: Ban Nalan to
Ban Naleu (Trekking) [B-L-D]
After breakfast, the trek route begins with a peaceful 3
hours walk along the banks of the river. Arrive at Ban
Nalan Tai (southern Ban Nalan). Picnic lunch can be eaten
further at or near Ban Nam Koy, a Lanten ethnic village.
At Ban Nam Koy, the path leads away from the river and
begins to climb again for about 3 hours. This is the most
beautiful: trees up to 4 or 5 hundred years old support a
canopy, blocking the sunlight and providing habitat for
many birds. Pause quietly for several minutes and you will
hear the forest come alive with the songs of birds and
shouts of insects. The trail downs to Ban Naleu, a mixed
village of Khmu and Lanten where may be an opportunity to
buy local clothing, jewelry or other handicrafts. Return
to Luang Namtha.
Day 5: Luang Namtha -
Oudomxai [B-L-D]
After breakfast, we come back to Oudomxai. End this is by
visiting the city and its surrounding. Dinner and good
night!
Day 6: Oudomxai -
Vientiane [B]
Breakfast and you will be transferred to airport and take
off to Vientiane. Welcome and greeted on arrival, followed
by transferring to hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 7: Depart
Vientiane [B]
After breakfast at hotel, we pick you at hotel lobby and
transfer to Wattey Airport or Friendship Bridge for your
next departure flight
